Black Mesa

WORKING TO MAKE A BETTER TOMORROW
FOR ALL MANKIND

Located in the remote New Mexico desert, the Black Mesa Research Facility is an ultra-classified laboratory complex dedicated to pushing the boundaries of theoretical and applied physics, advanced robotics, and biological research.

Facility Overview

Built over several decommissioned ICBM missile silos constructed during the 1950s, Black Mesa has been transformed into a sprawling, state-of-the-art subterranean research complex. Our facility is completely self-sufficient, housing its own ventilation, plumbing, sewer, and electrical generation systems, alongside extensive employee amenities including dormitories, cafeterias, and recreational facilities.

Black Mesa competes aggressively with Aperture Science for Department of Defense funding and government grants. Our researchers are recruited from the world's finest institutions to work on projects of the highest national importance.

Active Sectors

Sector C: Test Labs

Home to the Anomalous Materials Laboratory and the Anti-Mass Spectrometer. This sector handles the analysis of rare meteorological, geological, and extraterrestrial artifacts. Hazard Course completion required for entry.

Sector F: Lambda Complex

Highly classified operations. Contains the central core of our teleportation research division, advanced theoretical physics labs, and the primary reactor complex. Clearance level 4 or higher required.

Sector G: Hydro Electric

The primary power generation facility for the Black Mesa complex, drawing water from the local river systems to power massive turbines. Keeps the lights on and the cryogenic storage stable.

Sector E: Biodome Complex

Dedicated to the containment, observation, and dissection of non-terrestrial biological specimens in highly controlled, simulated environments.

Join Our Team

Black Mesa is an equal opportunity employer. We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals with advanced degrees in Theoretical Physics, Biotechnology, Robotics, and High-Energy Particle Physics. Administrative and security personnel (Black Mesa Security Force) are also actively being recruited.

* Note: All employees are required to undergo standard background checks, psychological evaluations, and biological decontamination protocols. Employment may require extended periods in underground environments. Black Mesa is not responsible for injuries sustained due to experimental equipment or anomalous materials.
